Pure Gold
My story began in Jamaica. At five years old, I came to the UK and began a journey I could never have imagined. After my dad was deported, I was adopted and raised by my stepmum. I watched her work, sacrifice and do everything she could to give my brother and me a good upbringing. Those early experiences taught me resilience, resourcefulness and how to make something out of whatever I had.
Food and creativity have always been part of who I am. I loved cooking and baking, and I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. But behind that was also a young woman learning to navigate change, trauma, motherhood and simply finding her own way through life.
Today, I’m a neurodivergent mum raising three neurodivergent boys, and motherhood has shaped both me and the direction of 24K. I wanted to build something that represents what matters to us: good food, family, inclusion and community. Education has also been an important part of my journey. From GCSEs and A-levels to qualifying as a Social Worker and completing my Master’s in Business Administration with Artificial Intelligence, I’ve continued to learn, evolve and turn my experiences into something meaningful.

The name has been with me from the very beginning. 24 represents the age I was when I first conceived the idea for the business, while K is the first initial of my name, Kerresha.
By coincidence, 24K also represents pure gold, the highest recognised gold purity. That coincidence became part of the standard I wanted my business to represent giving my customers something made with care, quality and pride.
As I’ve grown, 24K has grown with me. What started as an idea at 24 has evolved into a brand shaped by my Jamaican roots, my life in Britain, motherhood, creativity, resilience and my love of bringing people together through food. 24K isn’t just a name. It’s where I started, who I am, and the standard I continue to strive for.
