1. Who we are

24K Treats is a small food and drink business based in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, making cakes, bakes, desserts, fresh juices, ice creams and our own rum and punch range. We are the “data controller” for the personal information you give us through this website, by phone, by email or through our social media pages. 2. What information we collect

• When you order or enquire: your name, phone number, email address, delivery or collection details, what you are ordering, the date you need it, and any notes you give us, such as a cake message or design ideas.
• Allergy and dietary information: if you tell us about an allergy or dietary need so we can make your order safely. We only use this for your order.
• Age confirmation: if you buy from our rum range, we may ask you to confirm you are 18 or over and may check ID on delivery or collection. We do not keep copies of ID.
• Event, trade and “work with us” enquiries: the details you send through our contact form, such as your business name, event date or what you would like to work on together.
• When you visit the website: basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type, recorded automatically by our hosting provider for security and to keep the site running.

3. How and why we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote (a step you have asked us to take before an order).
• To make, deliver or hand over your order and keep in touch with you about it (to perform our contract with you).
• To handle allergy information so your order is made safely (with your consent, which you give by telling us).
• To check that alcohol is only sold to adults (to meet our legal obligations).
• To keep financial records (to meet our legal obligations, including to HMRC).
• To keep the website secure and working (our legitimate interests).

We do not sell your information. We will only send you news or offers if you have asked us to, and you can stop them at any time.

4. Who we share it with

We only share your information where we need to, with:

• our website and email hosting provider (IONOS), who store data on our behalf;
• payment providers, if you pay by card or online, who process your payment securely (we never see or store your full card details);
• delivery partners, where we use one, who receive only your name, address and phone number;
• our accountant, for bookkeeping and tax;
• Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces on this site and receives your IP address when the page loads;
• authorities such as HMRC or the local council, where the law requires it.

If you message us on Instagram or Facebook, those platforms also process your messages under their own privacy policies.

5. Cookies

This website does not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. WordPress may set small essential cookies that are only needed for the site to work, for example when the site owner is logged in. Your shopping basket is kept in your browser while you browse. Links to Instagram and Facebook take you to those sites, which use their own cookies.

6. How long we keep your information

• Enquiries and quotes that do not go ahead: up to 12 months, then deleted.
• Order records and invoices: 6 years, to meet tax rules.
• Allergy information: only for as long as we need it for your order, unless you ask us to keep it on file for future orders.

7. Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including secure (HTTPS) hosting, password-protected accounts and limiting access to the people who need it.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
• ask us to delete your information (unless we have to keep it by law);
• ask us to restrict or stop using your information;
• withdraw your consent at any time, for example to marketing messages.

9. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please talk to us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
